Why were they so hard on david cook on american idol last night?

Okay, it's clear who the judges want to win. They want David A. to win. But last week, they were all telling him how great he was and now they've been putting him down saying David A is the next American Idol. I don't really care if David A wins, David Cook will get a record deal no matter what, he's got so much talent. (David A always sings the same stuff and never takes any chances) Have you seen how talented David Cook is? And how passionate he is about his music? (He started
crying over the music! The other guy started crying when they told him how good they thought he was! :\) So do you think the judges were doing that to try and sway the votes to David A? Or why do u think they were so hard on Cook?

On several interviews, Simon said that David Cook is his bet to win and he likes him because his style is the one he will probably buy and listen too. David Cook's performance is just ok last night, he was way better in the previous week and he chose the wrong last song. Simon is just being his usual self and used the same harsh word. The judges are just commenting on the performance that night and not on the previous performances so I don't think they are any harder on David Cook than they were to the contestants that were voted off. I don't think they were swaying votes to Archuleta. Just wait for the result because no matter what the judges say, it's the votes that counts.

I think Simon was right last night.. David Cook did not do his best last night.. It was clear last night that David Archuleta is our next American Idol.. I like David Cook.. he will get a record deal for sure.. and he deserves it.. he just did not do as good last night as he had done in the past.. and it was the most important night of the competition.... which either one wins tonight.. they are both fantastic... my vote is for Archuleta.. he was great last night..

Oh my gosh YES. When David Cook won I was just so happy and then I was like bawling when he hugged his family. When I heard that his mom put a bunch of confetti on her purse after David Cook won I was tearing up. I mean It is sad when you watch these people every week and then it ends and you watch someones dream come true right before your eyes. I also had tears of joy because I wanted David Cook to take it from the beginning.

I don't think that David Cook performed as well as he could have or should have considering the magnitude of the night. But I also think that he might just win. And I also believe that rock songs over and over get a bit boring as well.



But the bottom line is, I think it was Simon's "kiss of death". Tell one guy he is awesome and the other guy he was not so good and people will stand up for the guy who was not so good. It's a fact, jack. Cook will win for that reason I think.

I actually think that they thought last week David Cook was the one to beat, but now, David A. just amazed them. You can't really blame them for praising the one who they think did the best that night.

i personally don't care much for David Cook. he's wasn't completely horrbile last night, but he wasn't as good as David Archuleta. I think the judges don't sway towards people in particular, i think they're honest. i think that if they were hard on Cook, then he deserved it hands down. he was great last night, but simply because David Archuleta was better in the performances are unfortunately going to be his downfall tonight.

Archuleta was good last night...and solid all season long. Cook is good too...and maybe even will sell more records, but vocally, Archuleta is better.



Last night, Archuleta was better than Cook. Call him Disney-esque or syrupy or what...but Archuleta had the best vocals all season.
