Is it just me, or were Same Difference not singing on the x factor results show?? To me it looked like they were blatently miming...Not very good seeing as this is a talent show and no other act has ever mimed on it.

I am an audio technician, they actually did lip sync extremely well, although there is no way they would jump up and down like that and sound so good....

biggest give away, was when they were getting interviewed afterward, did you hear the quality of those headset microphones?

in studios when recording they use pop sheilds, (view image below)

what we heard was a classic example of how a mic sounds without one (when they got interviewed at the end)

Also it was too obvious how it sounded, the sound quality was far superior to what anyone could get in a live performance, unless the sound engineer has GOD like tools behind the desk.......

recording sound and live sound is so much different.....i think we have established this.......

Melodyne is software which is pitch correction software for vocalists, they were even using this on the recording, i can spot it a mile off....

example here of how it works...

ok well i hope this clears things up for you, YES they were miming.....quite sad actually.....this is were commercialism and a true talent show collide in such a way that commercialism will always win....

I popped out to make a cup of tea and when I got back I thought I'd hit a blip in the space-time continuum. Those nerds Same Difference, miming to an apalling song with a cheesy dance routine. Was it 2007 again?! Except much, much worse.

I was sad to see Rachel go. She's an astonishing, unpredictable talent. Her performance of I'm Telling You was immense - if I'd seen it on Later With Jools I would have been equally impressed. She transcended the X-Factor circus and actually made the show about real music. I quite like Diana, if she'd stop squirming, but that's pretty much it for me this year......

Let's hope that Rachel now has a real career, instead of this Cowell-inspired, superficial Same Difference bollox!

Definitely! I had to google 'same difference miming' and see what others thought.. I can't believe the judges gave them such a bigging up, ah hello, they were miming!

I know! I wondered that aswell, i don't know why because Ryhdian wasnt! I thought it was wrong to let them mime on a live tv show. I think they were miming, but maybe they wernt but too my point of veiw they were. :)

Yes, and actually the finalists all mimed to 'Hero' on the same show a few weeks ago.

Me too - had to google this just to see if anyone else thought they were miming. Good song tho. It was the blowing on the mics at the end whist they were interviewed that really clinched it for me

Definitely miming!!
?

Totally miming, and not very well either.

If the dance routines are too energetic to let them sing live, then change the dancing.

It ain't rocket surgery people, it's not even brain science!!

Definitely miming!!!!! I thought so all the way through their singing, and then when the started speaking at the end and it was totally "muffled" through the microphone, yet "singing" had been crystal clear it was obvious.

Yes they were miming and yes I agree they should have sang it live, but to be fair to them they were dancing quite a bit and they would have been out of breath and struggling to sing.

yes they were. but i already knew as a statement was posted on the internet by the show saying that they were because they had an appearance somewhere else and couldn't preform live before then. But the x factor wanted them to appear.

Yes, they were so obviously miming.

At the start, her mouth starting moving but her voice wasn't heard.

It was obvious from how polished their voices sounded as well.
